What are the Benefits?
Fruits and vegetables are the cornerstone for a healthy diet and nutrition for life.
Fruits and vegetables are fat-free, and they provide plenty of nutrients for a healthy body. Use them all in
more meals.
What Can I Do For Breakfast?
For breakfast, have a banana over sugar-free cereal or oatmeal. You can also have
blueberry whole wheat pancakes or cinnamon pecan buckwheat pancakes. Top them off with real maple syrup. Eggs
are great in the morning. Have a vegetable omelet with onions, peppers and mushrooms. Add orange juice for a
complete meal and nutrition for life. There is a lot to do for breakfast, the most important meal of the
day.
What Can I Do For Lunch?
For lunch, you can have a delicious salad with red cabbage, onions, peppers, tomatoes,
and mushrooms. Add a couple of slices of whole wheat toast for a complete meal and nutrition of
life.
Have a hamburger on a whole wheat roll. Top the burger with
lettuce, tomato and an onion slice. Add an orange for a complete meal. There are plenty of
vegetable soups that you can have or make for lunch. Try a beef vegetable soup and a Minestrone soup. Having
vegetables for lunch will help insure nutrition for life.

What’s For Dinner?
Dinner is the big meal for the day. Always have two servings of
vegetables available. Try to top your meat entrée with a tomato or green
peppers. Have carrots and celery on the side for garnish. Dinner is a good time to
practice Nutrition for Life. Try to have two to three servings of Fruits and Vegetables at Dinner.
What Else Can I Do?
Overall, try to replace white bread and flour spaghetti with whole wheat bread and
whole wheat spaghetti. White bread and white flour turn to sugar in the digestive system and ultimately, add
more pounds to your body weight. Whole wheat products are digested as nutrients and are Nutrition for Life.
Make whole wheat products part of your life.

What about Carbohydrates?
Next, try to eliminate white potatoes and white rice. These carbohydrates also turn to
sugar in your body. Replace them with sweet potatoes and brown rice that add more nutrients and vitamins to
your body. Have a baked sweet potato or a sweet potato casserole.
What about Fried Foods
and Red Meat?
Try to eliminate fried foods for your diet. Fried foods have fat, sugar and a breaded
crust. Instead, bake and broil your chicken and fish and have nutrition for life.
Try to limit the use of red meat for your diet. Beef contains fat and salt, which can
be detrimental to your health.
What about Sugars?
Finally, you need to eliminate the sugars from your diet. Soda, Diet Soda, donuts and
cakes all contain a lot of refined sugar. Drink water or low-calorie fruit flavored water to have Nutrition
for Life. Eat a fruit that has natural sugar, to replace the donuts and cakes. You can also buy sugar free
candies and cakes.

Eating right is pretty easy. Just follow these simple guidelines for a healthy
